Blue Knot Day is Blue Knot Foundation's national awareness day celebrated in October every year. This year it will be held on Monday 16 October. On this day, we ask all Australians to unite in support of the 5 million Australian adult survivors of childhood trauma and abuse.
A wide range of community events and activities, such as Blue Knot Day morning teas and BBQs, will be held across Australia on Monday 16 October and throughout the week of 16-22 October.
The theme of Blue Knot Day 2017 is “Unite in Support of Adult Survivors of Childhood Trauma”, encouraging widespread, visible community support across Australia. This year’s theme builds on the Blue Knot Day 2016 campaign of collaboration, ‘Together we lead the way to survivor recovery’. This year we encourage all Australians to unite.
Unite in Support of Adult Survivors of Childhood Trauma highlights the strength there is in unity, and that healing and recovery cannot occur in isolation. We encourage communities, families, media, workplaces and all Australians to unite in support of adult survivors of childhood trauma.
